With a graphic arts background, I am interested in form and function. Looking at common items, such as a book or a basket (each is a container or a protection of something more important) then relooking at them, not for the function but the form. Both are everyday items and the making uses centuries old techniques.

I love the dyeing process, it requires some skill and lots of happy mistakes.

SKILLS :   Lectures/Workshops - My main focus is basketmaking, (coiling) and containers, using mostly dyed (procion and indigo) threads, yarns and fabrics, bookbinding and design creativity.

FEES :   $ 225.00 per day plus travel expenses.

TRAVEL :   Will travel reasonable distances. Prefer Workshops. Availability : Anytime.

OTHER :   Member of CEG London for 20+ years, and also enjoy life drawing. My Fibre and Threads nowadays is just dyed threads. I mostly dye silk threads in multi-colours and in small batches. They work very well for me in my work, and are great for embroiderers. I do not sell the extra items and books, as there is so much competition and everything is easily available on the internet.
