SCARBOROUGH NEEDLEARTS GUILD
Submitted by Elizabeth Gray, ONN Representative
Report - January, 2012
We at Scarborough Needlearts Guild have had a very enjoyable Fall session.
One of our projects was to assemble a scissor safe to match the needle roll we had done previously. This was taught by our own Sylvia Wilkens.
In October we had a presentation, by various members, of needles and threads, Starting and Stopping, which was very informative. All kinds of interesting facts that a lot of us didn't know.
Carol Arsenault came to us and taught Jacobean Gold Work, which was very beautiful.
We had an outing in November to view a Threadworks exhibit called Trees - just wonderful - so many different interpretations of the subject, Trees. The same day we visited Kimat Designs which is owned and run by our own Kim Mather. Lots of things to tempt us!
Our last project was a Christmas ornament taught by our own Trudy Michaeloff.
Lastly, we had our Christmas luncheon (delicious) and our Christmas Bazaar. All in all a very productive and enjoyable Fall session.
At the moment, we do not have our 2012 programme completed.
In the meantime, we hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and are looking forward to a Healthy and Happy New Year.
Display at the ONN Annual General Meeting (London) - 12 May, 2011.
