EMBROIDERERS' GUILD OF PETERBOROUGH
Submitted by Carol Rand, ONN representative
Report - August, 2010
Summer 2010 got off to an exciting start with a fabulous party to mark our 30th Anniversary.
We dined at Roland's Steakhouse in Peterborough. Nearly forty were in attendance including members, husbands, and former members of our guild and youth guild. All the ladies received a delicate machine embroidered corsage. We mingled, chatted, laughed and won door prizes. No one left early! Everyone enjoyed a retrospective display of work as well as a power point photo presentation of people, events and work from our thirty years as an EAC guild.
Hutchison House Museum in Peterborough continues to be an important aspect of our lives and we are proud to be displaying our work in their large showcase from June until the end of August with items from the '70s, '80s, '90s, and '20s.
On August 5th some of our members will participate in charitable work for Hutchison House by teaching a class to children as a fund raiser for the Museum.
Four summer stitch-ins are planned with our first in June. In July we met with members of the Northumberland Hills Stitchery Guild. We look forward to two more just as beautiful days in August.
