Annual Report - March, 2010

Another interesting year has progressed along for the Oakville Stitchery Guild.

We have had interesting speakers such as Marion Spandjert, Anne Marie Desaulniers, Joan Holbein and Carla Canonico from A Needle Pulling Thread" Magazine.

Our own member, Sybil Rampen recently displayed her projects on Natural Materials for all to see at our March meeting. For the first time we were nearly snowed out of our February Meeting, but a few brave members ventured out for a cosy time at Joshua Creek.

Workshops this year by Maggie Vanderweit and Marion Spandjert were interesting and productive. We continued to offer Do Days and Dr. Stitch to our members for additional time to stitch. Show and Share at our meetings are highly popular and we have some very prolific stitchers in our midst.

Our librarian has added some fascinating fibre art books and our library continues to grow in size.

To conclude the year, our last speaker will be Carol Weibe of Cracked Paper Quilts forum. Carol will also provide a workshop demonstrating her techniques in June.

In May, we will have a hands-on stitching meeting.

Our Annual General Meeting in June includes a potluck dinner, silent auction and a members' show. Our theme this year has been 'Nesting' and we hope to have many of our projects on display at the ONN meeting.

This is my last year as Program Coordinator for the OSG and I have enjoyed the challenge very much! I look forward to an exciting year in 2010 -2011 as a participant in our guild.
