NORTHUMBERLAND HILLS STITCHERY GUILD
Submitted by Anne Shields, Chair & ONN Representative
Report - August, 2010
Many of our members worked diligently on their embroidery inserted in a CD case for the ONN display. Some fell short and completed it later. I was one of the latter. Those who were fortunate enough to attend the Annual ONN Meeting enjoyed it immensely. The workshops, vendors, member displays of work and exhibit of Threadworks "Trees" were tremendous.
In May, Jillian Roos-Markowitz, a fellow member, displayed and discussed her work as a Fibre Artist. Jillian instilled an appreciation and interest in fibre art in many members.
Our year ended as usual with a Show and Tell of our work and a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
We had our first summer 'pot luck' meeting in a member's lovely country garden.
Plans are already being made for the new season and will be completed at our next summer garden meeting.
A calendar will be sent to all members outlining the Fall plans. In an effort to increase our membership, we are displaying work and handing out brochures at local summer celebrations and functions, such as the Fall Fair etc.
Our summer project is a pin cushion for exchange at the Quinte Fall Get Together.
Savour the sounds, smells, tastes, touch and colours of summer and record them in your needlework, as Sheila McCoy has in her Lavender Sachet.
Our first meeting is September 14th at 9:30am at the Cobourg Lion's Centre. It will be a "Find It, Finish It" meeting, so bring any unfinished projects to work on or get help with
Display at the ONN Annual General Meeting - 6 May, 2010.
