17 March, 2010 - Members of Quilters of South Carolina created One-of-a-Kind bras for their Breast Cancer Awareness Project   "Decorate a Bra" (Bra Art).   They raised $2,275.99 at The Artful Bras Auction and this project is now closed.

The Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Textiles, Toronto present
"Upon the Door Posts"
A collection of mezuzot cases (these small containers are hung on door posts in Jewish homes and contain a hand-written prayer on parchment).
The pieces reflect the variety of interests and skills of our members who are quilters, weavers, beaders and embroidery workers and fabric artists.
Held at the Aron Museum,
Montreal, Quebec.

The modern needlework pieces have been juxtaposed with historical items from the Brant Museum and Archives collection.
Traditional techniques of generations past have evolved into works of art with contemporary designs.

A 2-day course dyeing workshop designed to create a unique selection of fabulous coloured rainbow threads for hand and machine embroidery.

This is an opportunity for the participant to involve themselves in the study of new colour combinations while creating one-of-a-kind threads, for their own one-of-a-kind work.

This 4-day course is aimed at inspiring the student to experiment with the possibilities of designing and creating textiles that are anything but opaque.

This workshop is directed towards participants who would like to strengthen their skills in hand or machine embroidery and some of the challenges that are presented while working on translucent or transparent fabrics.

The end result of this workshop will be a small hanging that will encompass some of the techniques covered.
