EDITORIAL and NEWSLETTERS

January 2010

FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to you All -

At time of writing, I've just said Goodbye to a Christmas visit from B.C. friends… they probably brought the rain with them. Their visit was just a couple of hours, but it was so nice to see them over the Christmas holiday. I hope you were able to catch up with some similar visits. We all seem to be moving at such a pace these days.

I moved at a pace just before Christmas, with a project for my own sewing Guild. We had to have all the groundwork done before assembly (at our first meeting of the new year in January) of a Biscornu. These delightful little items (pincushion/scissor fob) seem to be all the latest, so I'm looking forward to the assembly. I like sewing projects that are "useful" rather than to "look at". (The practical side of me coming out!!)

I have visions of doing sewing projects and painting projects and sorting postage stamps (collection) - whilst I have a break from my work with the Orchestra ; I also want to finish the "painted carpet" in my basement (a household project). By the time I've written my list of unfinished items, I could have actually completed one of them. This predicament is very good material for a New Year's Resolution. I know I'm not the only one in this situation. So, Onward!!

A quick reminder this is another busy year :

THREADWORK - those ladies who are producing works of art with the "TREES" theme - April is creeping toward us (Threadworks jurying for the Threadworks 2010 Show), if you need any help, contact your own Guild ladies, or Elizabeth for some guidance.

and at the
ONN AGM we should all have our CD cases blossoming with ooohs and aaahs of sewing.

TEACHER LISTING -
Are there any new Teachers out there, whom we should be adding to our list?   Get them to send in their details for addition to the listing on the web pages. A new list will be issued with the next ONN-Line Newsletter (as I'm still awaiting some info).

ONN REPS -
Please circulate this to your Members or place a copy in your Library.
Make an announcement to your Guild of any items (workshops, seminars, shows, etc.,) that may be of interest.
